Good morning Tucson!
It looks like it will be another beautiful day in paradise. Anything fun on your agenda today?
It’s Thursday so you know what that means - another day of beautiful weather in the Old Pueblo.
Are you looking for things to do? Head downtown and explore some of our amazing public art (bring your camera!). This photo was made outside of the Joel D. Valdez Main Library (http://www.library.pima.gov/locations/main/). Don’t worry if you get hungry doing all of that walking - there are plenty of excellent restaurants to visit.
You know you’re an Arizona native when you “hug” a cactus only once in your lifetime. ~Nancy Dedera
Maybe it says something about me and the fact that I’m an Arizona transplant but in the few years I’ve lived here, I’ve not once felt compelled to hug a cactus. ~Michael Kloth
There are only two more chances to see the USAF Thunderbirds here in Tucson this weekend. It’s too late to see them on the Davis-Monthan AFB today (gates closed at 2:00) but anywhere in the midtown area should have a pretty good view (this photo was made yesterday in Reid Park). If you want to see the show from the best possible vantage point, be sure to get to Davis-Monthan AFB early tomorrow.
A bit of Tucson color to start the day.
You’ve got to love the way that Tucson embraces bold color in their buildings.
Testing continues in advance of the anticipated July 25 launch of the Tucson streetcar service.
What do you think - do you plan to ride it?
Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she’s singing
Ooo, ooo, ooo
How many of you go through your walks or hikes here in Tucson stuck with that earwig stuck in your head when you see one of these guys?
